Looks like a peaceful and picturesque place to live. Reminds me of Bergen, Norway (from the pictures I've seen).

Yes, it's a very calm place... :) and I don't know if it looks like Bergen, because I never went there, but my brother is there until next week, so when he returns, I'll ask him... :D

Well, we have some mistreated streets too, where old houses are falling down and are completely abandoned and unfortunately, it's a rising phenomenon, because young people prefer to live in modern buildings in the suburbs than live in the old houses of the city center... :(
That's one of the main problems of the city where I live, our historical center is full of abandoned houses... :(
I, for example, live in an old part of the city that's suffering exactly from that...

oh man that is sad... so much culture will be lost and the young will lose so much. oh well, i guess we do not teach them like we should. but it is great you are photoing such buildings...

Yeah, as a student of Archaeology and History I must prevent the destruction of these old buildings... :) or, at least, I should register them photographically and in other ways, so their memory can live forever... :) that's one of the principles an archaeologist should obey...

I do what I can... unfortunately it seems like a lost battle to those who want to preserve history... the authorities are the first wanting the destruction of the "inconvenient" patrimony to "modernize" the country, so we're fighting the system without any support... :(

Thank you! And here in my country we have a lot of old and interesting streets... :) I'm anxious to buy my new camera, because when I do that, I will do a great collection of pictures of my hometown, Porto, and in the historic center of it, we have streets that are authentic historic relics... :)

And what's your hometown? Mine has more than 2000 years, it was occupied during the Iron Age and after it had a roman occupation, but the actual urbanism of it started 1000 years ago and we still have a lot of things from that time... :)
