This picture was taken in Soajo, a town known for it's "espigueiros", these strucutures that you see here...
They are used to store grain after the harvest.
This picture could be better, but it was raining heavily when i took it, so it was a liitle difficult... :)

Wow... this "espigueiros" are really cool, why the crosses? when I saw the first time this picture I thought it was a cemetery because the crosses.

This isn't a cemetery... :lol: The crosses are to protect the grain. Our people is very supersticious, so they think that the crosses stop the devil from ruining the stored grain.
Sometimes they decorate the doors with religious motifs too...

This one looks great.. strange atmosphere, very cool setting, the crosses on the roof. The only thing that seems to disturb me are the 'normal houses' and the green grass in the background.

Yeah, I don't like them too... :( and I knew this place but I never visited it before... and my idea was that these "espigueiros" were completely isolated, but when I arrived there I saw that there were modern houses near them, and I didn't like that too... :(
